NEW: Another shooting reported in Green Valley

Arlington County police are investigating a second shooting in the Green Valley neighborhood.

The Saturday evening shooting happened on the same day as an early morning shooting one block away. Both resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to the victims, though the evening shooting victim — a juvenile male who showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound, according to police — was reported to be seriously injured.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was outside when he was approached by two suspects and a physical altercation ensued,” ACPD said in a press release, below. “During the course of the incident, one suspect discharged a firearm, striking the victim, before both suspects fled the scene.”

So far, no arrests have been made.

“This remains an active investigation,” police said, adding that they’re now seeking tips about the shooting.
