Expect more dry weather and gusty winds this weekend, and an elevated fire danger as a result.
Humidity levels are low and falling, contributing to the brush fire risk. Already, across the river, D.C. firefighters battled a brush fire Saturday morning in Rock Creek Park.
The fire danger message from the National Weather Service, issued just after noon Saturday, is below.

…INCREASED FIRE DANGER FOR NORTHERN & CENTRAL VIRGINIA SUNDAY…
Relative humidities will drop to around 25 to 35 percent late Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon. Sustained west to southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts to 20 to 30 mph are expected. Due to dry conditions from the lack of rain, there is an increased risk for the spread of wildfires.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
