NEW: Dense Fog Advisory issued for Arlington and region

Arlington and the rest of the D.C. area are under a Dense Fog Advisory tonight.

After a foggy Tuesday, forecasters say conditions could get worse tonight, with visibility of a quarter mile or less. That could make driving hazardous across the region.

The fog advisory is in effect until 2 a.m.

* WHAT…Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE…Washington DC, portions of Maryland, Virginia, and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

* WHEN…Until 2 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Conditions will improve south of the warm front overnight. To the north, fog may persist through daybreak.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
