The fog is expected to clear up overnight, but for now visibility outside is low and potentially treacherous for drivers.

It’s going to be a foggy night.
Arlington and much of the region is now under a Dense Fog Advisory. The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Friday.
Forecasters warn of “visibility down to one quarter mile in dense fog” and “hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.”
“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” said the National Weather Service.

The fog has prompted delays at Reagan National Airport.
“Due to Low Ceilings, traffic is experiencing Gate Hold and Taxi delays between 16 minutes and 30 minutes in length and increasing,” said the FAA’s flight delay maps.
