It’s going to be a breezy start to 2025 in Arlington and the D.C. area.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for much of the region, starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan 1). That follows a threat of storms tonight.

* WHAT…West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts around 50 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, northern, and western Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.
* WHEN…From 7 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few sporadic power outages may result. Highest gusts will likely occur late Wednesday morning through Wednesday mid-afternoon.
