A nationwide hairdressing chain known for its blowout hairstyles has opened a second Arlington location in Crystal City.
Drybar opened last month at 269 19th Court S., on the ground floor of The Grace and Reva apartments. The salon specializes in blow-dry styles with “top-notch customer service,” franchisee Brittany Brom told ARLnow.
“Our motto is kind of just, ‘focus on one thing and be the best at it,’ and for us, that’s blowouts,” she said. “So, we don’t do cuts or color. It’s literally just blowouts.”
Customers can choose from nine different hairstyles with cocktail-inspired names like the “Mai Tai,” Brom’s personal favorite — a look she described as casual “beachy waves.” Another option, the “Southern Comfort,” offers a little more volume.
“Everyone loves big volume, kind of like the Sabrina Carpenter look, if you will,” Brom said. “We try to definitely stay on top of trends, but a lot of our styles are very timeless and easily adaptable.”
The 1,612-square-foot Crystal City space is equipped with 10 styling stations and four wash stations, and it recently received a liquor license to serve refreshments like champagne and mimosas.
The company seeks to provide “approachable” price points, Brom said, with hairstyle prices as low as $45 with a membership. It also offers 30-minute dry styling appointments and hairstyling for girls age 7 and under.
Drybar’s other Arlington location is in the Ballston Quarter. This is Brom’s second franchise location, following another in Reston.
“What’s more fun than helping women look and feel their best? It’s a pretty fun job,” she said.
From now through the end of the month, the salon is offering “founding memberships” for discounted services during Drybar’s first six months. A grand opening party is expected to happen sometime toward the end of February.
Drybar is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
