Java Loco bubble tea cafe expands to Crystal City with new items

A Northern Virginia cafe has opened a new location in Crystal City, offering espresso drinks, bubble tea and brunch.

Java Loco Coffee & Bubble Tea opened Jan. 27 at 2777 Crystal Drive. The new location, featuring two new lunch options, is the business’ fifth overall and first in Arlington.

It serves bubble tea and Vietnamese coffee

  • The strawberry l’amour, a strawberry milk tea with strawberry puree and popping bubbles, is one of 18 milk and fruit tea varieties.
  • Java Loco also offers frappes, fruit smoothies and specialty lattes with flavors like pistachio, Irish cream, lavender and Biscoff cookie butter.
  • Baked goods, savory bagels, avocado toast, salad and sourdough deli sandwiches are offered for breakfast and lunch.

Quiche and soup are new on the menu

  • The Crystal City location has added spinach quiche and a rotating daily soup. These are chicken noodle, lobster bisque and broccoli cheddar.
  • Through the end of February, the cafe is offering 15% off all orders in Crystal City.
  • Current hours are 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily, although hours may expand later this spring.

Java Loco has been in business since 2013

  • Husband and wife duo Nam Tran and Nga Ho started the business 12 years ago in Alexandria.
  • The cafe has since expanded to five locations, all in Northern Virginia.
