Arlington and much of the D.C. area is under a Wind Advisory, set to go into effect later today.
The National Weather Service says gusts of up to 55 mph are expected. That could fell trees and large branches, bringing down power and other utility lines.
The advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. to midnight.

* WHAT…West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, northern, northwest, and western Virginia, and panhandle West Virginia.
* WHEN…From 2 PM this afternoon to midnight EST tonight.
* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
