McDonald’s on Langston Blvd demolished, expected to re-open this fall

The McDonald’s on Langston Blvd has been torn down, making way for a new, “modernized” McDonald’s on the same site.

Construction at 4834 Langston Blvd is scheduled to begin the week of June 23, area construction manager Michele Miller told ARLnow.

The indoor PlayPlace is going away in the new building, which will include self-ordering kiosks and a side-by-side drive-thru with two ordering lanes. The lanes will merge at pickup to improve efficiency, Miller said.

The restaurant’s former single-lane drive-thru often contributed to backups along Langston Blvd’s busy road. The fast food chain previously made multiple attempts to add a second lane, but these never materialized.

The new building will be no larger than the previous one and will include a small patio with outdoor seating.

McDonald’s expects to re-open the location in October.
