Adoptable Pet of the Week: Jet

Jet is a sweet bull terrier with a heart as big as his head and a second lease on life after being rescued from euthanasia.

Jet is a two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix currently in foster care and available for adoption through Laila’s Legacy Animal Rescue.

His foster described him as sweet, curious, cuddly and “ready for his forever home.”

According to the foster:

Like many rescue dogs, Jet didn’t have the easiest start to life. His past is mostly a mystery, but there are signs it wasn’t kind. Oddly, his luck began to change when he landed on a euthanasia list in a county where his breed is banned. One of the last names remaining, a snowstorm bought him a little more time. He was saved the very day he was set to be euthanized.

Jet arrived in foster care with a lot to learn, but ready to do the work. Food-motivated and always eager to please, he quickly soared to the top of his class (of one). He’s made huge strides in training, learning lots of cues—and that he doesn’t need to use his mouth to communicate everything. (It was never aggressive, just a habit from not knowing better, and he’s come such a long way!) He thrives with structure, physical activity, mental stimulation, and positive reinforcement.

Jet is a total love who just wants to be close to his people. A world-class cuddler, he’ll happily serve as your weighted blanket. He’s a curious guy who always makes time for people-watching. With the exterior of a bear and the heart of a teddy, Jet sometimes startles strangers, but only because they don’t expect such a sweet guy to be offering them a chance to say hi. He’ll even pause to let fellow walkers catch up, just so they can give him some scratches.

Jet is still working on his impulse control, but he’s showing every day that he can and he will “leave it.” Because he’s still learning, he’s currently best suited for an adult-only household or one with kids 12+. Every day, Jet continues to grow, make better choices, and show his endless capacity for love.

Now that Jet has mastered his mid-air treat-catching skills, he’s ready for his next big leap… into your arms and heart.
