Cake influencer plans ‘Cake Fest DMV’ next month in Clarendon

A local pastry personality is hosting a festival for cake creators in Clarendon next month.

Chanise Nycole, a cake decorator with over 30,000 TikTok followers, announced in a video that she’ll be hosting Cake Fest DMV on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Arlington Beer Garden (3217 10th Street N.).

Bakers are required to bring one full cake serving 8-10 people. They must arrive early for setup, bring signage with a list of ingredients, and their own cake cutting utensils.

The registration also advises cake makers to avoid whipped cream or heat-sensitive frosting.

The sign-up has a $25 fee for the first 40 people to sign up — an early bird cake registration fee.

“You don’t have to be a cake decorator to attend. You can be a home baker or someone who just likes to make cakes,” Ray said on TikTok. “All you need to do to bring a cake is register.”

Ray said the event will include a DJ, a photobooth and a matcha bar.

“It’s a great way not only to meet other decorators in the area but also potential customers,” Ray said.
