Repeat thief nabbed after Pentagon City shoplifting, police say

A D.C. woman has been arrested and charged with a trio of thefts from Arlington stores.

The thefts date back to October 2024. Police did not identify the businesses involved but they occurred on two blocks, in Pentagon City and Rosslyn, that correspond with the location of Target stores.

The latest incident happened Tuesday afternoon on the 900 block of Army Navy Drive, according to an Arlington County police crime report. A woman stole merchandise from a business and drove off, but officers located the getaway vehicle on Route 1 and the suspect was taken into custody just over the county line in Alexandria, police say.

The 53-year-old suspect has also been charged with robbery for two prior thefts in which she allegedly threatened employees with sharp objects while fleeing.

ROBBERY (Late), 2025-08260150/2025-08260166, 900 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 2:20 p.m. on August 26, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the female suspect allegedly stole merchandise from a business and fled the scene in a vehicle. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located the vehicle in the 3800 block of Richmond Highway and conducted a traffic stop. With the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect was involved in two previous incidents involving the business. On October 30, 2024, the suspect allegedly entered the business in the 900 block of Army Navy Drive, concealed merchandise, brandished what appeared to be a knife and exited the store without payment. On August 22, 2025, the suspect entered the business in the 1500 block of Wilson Boulevard, allegedly concealed merchandise, exited the store without payment and, after being confronted by an employee, made threatening statements and displayed a pair of scissors (2025-08220284). [The suspect], 53, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Robbery (x2), Grand Larceny, Shoplifting (x2) and was served with outstanding warrants out of Fairfax County. She was held without bond.
