A family-friendly pizza restaurant in Falls Church is shooting to open in a few months, following some delays.
After announcing plans in December 2024 to open at 119 E. Broad Street, Little Beast Cafe & Bistro — known for its storybook-style decor and Detroit-style pizza — has reset its timeline to open in February or March, owner Aaron Gordon told ARLnow.
“We have had a couple of minor delays — nothing crazy,” Gordon said. “We’d rather open after the holidays just as spring is arriving.”
Construction is ongoing at the forthcoming location on the ground floor of the Broad & Washington apartment building. The restaurant follows the closure of another Little Beast location in Reston in 2023.
Though a Falls Church menu has yet to be finalized, the brand’s other location in D.C. offers both Detroit-style and brick oven pizzas. They are classic varieties like cheese, pepperoni and margherita, plus specialty pizzas like “Corktown French Onion Soup Pizza” and “The Joe Louis,” which comes loaded with toppings including black olives, sausage, ricotta, green pepper, red onion, mushrooms and pepperoni.
Outside of pizza, Little Beast also offers salads and Italian-style appetizers such as Gordie Sticks: cheesy herb garlic breadsticks served with vodka dipping sauce.
Gordon hopes that the restaurant, with a wide but approachable menu, can become a local favorite for family dining.
“As a family person, I know that if there are other families in the restaurant, you feel like it’s okay to bring your kids. That makes a big, big difference,” Gordon previously told ARLnow. “Having kids and bringing them to a restaurant can always be complicated … We want to be able to invite those people in and have a good time.”
