‘Tasty Treat’ halal food cart arrives outside Ballston Quarter

A local chain of food carts offering halal cuisine has expanded to Ballston.

Tasty Treat parked another cart outside Ballston Quarter last month, bringing a new, locally owned fast casual option to the neighborhood. Located on the Wilson Blvd side of 850 N. Randolph Street, this is the business’s third spot in Arlington, joining others in Rosslyn and Crystal City.

Small menu carries big Mediterranean flavors

  • Diners choose between a platter ($11-$12) or a gyro/pita ($10), before selecting their protein of choice: chicken, lamb, falafel, fish or shrimp.
  • Platters are served over brown rice, a Mediterranean cucumber salad with lettuce, or a mix of both.
  • Four different sauces are also available: white, spicy red, green and chipotle.

All meals come with a complimentary drink

  • Sodas, iced teas and Gatorades are located in a blue cooler next to the stand.
  • The stand also offers four “sides & extras”: a six-piece order of hot wings ($8), a six-piece order of chicken nuggets ($5), french fries ($4) and pita bread ($1.50).
  • It’s open daily from 10:30 a.m. until late at night.
