Five arrested over alleged baseball bat beating and prostitution in Pentagon City

Five suspects have been arrested after two men were allegedly beaten with a baseball bat while soliciting sex workers in Pentagon City last month.

Two male suspects have been charged with malicious wounding, abduction and robbery-related crimes in the Feb. 15 incident on the 1400 block of S. Eads Street.

Three women, meanwhile, were each charged with residing in a bawdy place, and two of them were charged with conspiracy to commit malicious wounding and robbery.

The two victims, who are both men, had come to the apartment to meet up with three women “who were advertising on a prostitution website,” according to a criminal complaint.

The victims told police that, after they met with two of the three women, “two masked men” came out of a room and demanded their belongings. The masked men allegedly stole a $1,300 jacket and beat the victims with a metal baseball bat.

The suspects told police that the two victims had “demanded” additional sex services, resulting in the women calling the two male suspects for security, according to a criminal complaint.

One of the male suspects has been charged with two counts of robbery with a weapon, while the other has been charged with accessory to robbery with a weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a weapon.

All of the suspects were arrested four days after the incident. They are scheduled to appear in Arlington County’s General District Court on April 10, according to online court records.

Although soliciting a prostitute is a misdemeanor in Virginia, the two victims do not appear to have been charged.
