Spot of Tea offering discounts and giveaways at Crystal City grand opening

A new bubble tea shop in Crystal City is celebrating its grand opening this weekend with discounts and an online sweepstakes.

Spot of Tea — which offers matcha and a variety of colorful fruit and milk teas at Water Park — will celebrate its new location starting tomorrow (Friday) with a 50% discount on all drinks and a limited-edition magnet giveaway.

Crystal City customers who tag the brand on social media this weekend can also enter to win “the ultimate matcha prize pack,” which includes a branded tote bag, make-at-home matcha kit and reusable jar that can be used for a 10% drink discount.

Grand opening promotions will last through Sunday.

The new Crystal City shop is Spot of Tea’s first Virginia location, joining three D.C. locations in Dupont Circle, Union Market and Georgetown. The drink menu starts at $5.35, with options like strawberry matcha, blue jasmine milk tea and an iced cardamom date latte.

All drinks are made with oat milk and customizable with matcha cloud foam, lychee jelly and brown sugar boba toppings.

The Crystal City spot is expected to introduce the business’ first food menu over the next few months.

“Spot of Tea continues to grow, and establishing our first Virginia location at Water Park represents a tremendous milestone for us,” co-owner David Cooper said in a press release. “Come on out to our new location, we’re beyond thrilled to be a part of National Landing, and we can’t wait to become a neighborhood favorite.”

The bubble tea shop is one of the latest new businesses to join Water Park, alongside burrito spot Monstera and the forthcoming Pizzeria Paradiso Pronto. Its daily hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
