Another Heat Advisory issued for Arlington and D.C. area on Friday

Arlington and the D.C. area will again be under a Heat Advisory on Friday.

Heat index values up to 107 are expected Friday afternoon, creating hazardous conditions for anyone working or spending extended time outside.

For the second day in a row, Arlington Public Schools will limit outdoor activities as a result of the heat.

“Due to this advisory, there will be no outdoor recess or other outdoor activities for students during school hours and during Extended Day,” APS said in an email to families. “Start times for some practices may be adjusted due to the heat advisory, and schools will disseminate additional information regarding athletic event schedules.”
