A new spot for homemade ice cream, specialty cupcakes and other sweet treats has opened its doors in Falls Church.
Lil’ Cakes & Creamery opened at 120 Founders Avenue, on Founders Row, earlier this month. So far, a store employee told ARLnow, the business’s deluxe cupcakes have been particularly popular — with flavors like pumpkin salted caramel cheesecake, caramel apple pie crisp and maple pecan praline.
Other cupcake varieties include strawberry shortcake, snickerdoodle, carrot cake and banana pudding. These are complemented by a rotating selection of ice cream made in-house, plus treats like ice cream cookie sandwiches, cake jars, cannolis and cupcake milkshakes.
Yesterday (Tuesday), ice cream flavors included raspberry, coconut, cocoa pebbles, sweet lemon, cotton candy and Oreo.

The store also features macarons, available individually or in batches of six or 12, plus cookies, baklava, push pops and cake slices.
Additionally, for customers’ furry friends, Lil’ Cakes sells dog-safe “pupcakes” and “doggy ice cream.”
This is the third Lil’ Cakes location in Northern Virginia, joining other spots in Alexandria and Sterling, in addition to five stores in Maryland.
