Best Buns opens in Falls Church with all-day breakfast and full-service bar

A new Best Buns location opened today (Thursday) in Falls Church, serving up all-day breakfast and fried chicken sandwiches with a full-service bar.

The standalone spot in the West Falls development (265 W. Falls Station Blvd) is the Shirlington-based chain’s first to offer outdoor rooftop seating with cocktails, wine and draft beer, which sits above a grab-and-go area selling pastries, coffee, specialty sandwiches and more.

“Everything is made fresh daily — so pastries, all of our bread, is scratch-made,” company spokesperson Erica Herrera told ARLnow.

Herrera recommends the breakfast sandwiches, the turkey club for lunch or, for dessert, cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Fried chicken sandwiches are available on either bread or buttermilk biscuits, and other lunch options include cheeseburgers with a choice of toppings. For breakfast, guests can try the bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, avocado toast with egg, or sausage, egg and cheese biscuits.

To drink, this location serves cocktails including margaritas, mojitos, espresso martinis and a limoncello spritz, along with a pale ale, lager and IPA and wines including a chardonnay, pinot grigio and prosecco.

Jon Norton, CEO of Great American Restaurants, said he has ties to the Falls Church community and Meridian High School, located next to the West Falls project.

“We are excited to become part of the Falls Church community and, in particular, to be neighbors with Meridian High School, where my own high school basketball coach, Jim Smith, now coaches,” Norton said. “Coach Smith always challenged us to have a ‘Commitment to Excellence.’ That lesson has stayed with me and helped inspire one of our core values at Great American Restaurants.”

“We look forward to bringing that same commitment to consistency and hospitality to our new home in Falls Church,” Norton continued.

Best Buns announced that it was coming to Falls Church back in November 2025. This is the business’s fourth location, joining others in Springfield, Tysons and the original spot at 4010 Campbell Avenue in Shirlington, which opened in 1995.

“Best Buns Bakery & Burgers has built its reputation on from-scratch preparation, warm hospitality and a commitment to continually delivering an exceptional guest experience,” a press release says. “Pastries, breads and baked goods are prepared through carefully developed baking processes, while breakfast, lunch and dinner selections are made fresh and served throughout the day.”

Although parking in West Falls is limited, Best Buns is offering its guests 90 minutes of free parking with validation. It is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
