It’s going to be a windy Saturday.
The National Weather Service just issued a Wind Advisory for Arlington and other parts of the D.C. region, in effect until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Gusts of up to 50 mph are expected, which could fell tree limbs and cause power outages.

1022 PM EDT Fri Apr 12 2024…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT SATURDAY…
* WHAT…West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts around 45 mph overnight, increasing to 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 50 mph Saturday.
* WHERE…Portions of central, north-central, and northern Maryland, The District of Columbia, and northern Virginia.
* WHEN…Until 6 PM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
Some scattered power outages and at least one large, downed tree were reported around Arlington on Friday, amid breezy conditions.
