Freeze Watch in effect Sunday night

A Freeze Watch has been issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area.

The watch is in effect late Sunday into Monday. The first freeze of the season could damage unprotected plans and exposed water pipes.

…FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING…

* WHAT…Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 possible.

* WHERE…In DC, District of Columbia. In Maryland, Southern Baltimore County. In Virginia, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria.

* WHEN…From late Sunday night through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
