A local man has been arrested and accused of setting a series of small fires outside of restaurants along Crystal City’s 23rd Street restaurant row.
The Arlington County Fire Department announced the arrest Thursday afternoon, identifying the suspect as Timothy C. Pollock.
He’s now charged with three counts of arson, following fires that were set in the early morning hours of Jan. 9 outside of the Crystal City Sports Pub, Freddie’s Beach Bar, and McNamara’s Irish Pub.
No motive for the crime was given. A Facebook account associated with Pollock includes a photo from inside Freddie’s on Dec. 21, as well as a series of conservative political videos and memes. A post on Dec. 7 includes a link to an article about Chelsea Manning participating in a transgender rights protest at the Capitol, on which Pollock commented: “Freak.”
