Adoptable Pet of the Week: Onyx

Onyx is a loyal, loveable pup whose owner recently passed and she’s looking for a new home.

Onyx is a five-year-old mixed breed available for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. She’s house-trained, affectionate, and in need of a new, loving home.

According to the Pet of the Week submission:

Onyx’s owner recently passed away suddenly, and she is in desperate need of a loving human companion. Despite her most recent loss, Onyx is a resilient pup who thrives on connection. Once she gets to know you, she’s affectionate, calm, and wonderfully cuddly. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or enjoying a peaceful walk, Onyx is happiest when she’s near her people.

AWLA described Onyx as an “absolute love bug who will follow you from room to room, curl up by your side, and fill your home with love.”

AWLA said:

  • She is low-key and easygoing – perfect for a relaxed home environment.
  • She is a quiet companion – no barking, just soulful stares and warm snuggles.
  • She loves a cozy nook and a consistent routine.
  • She is looking for a cat-free, calm household where she can truly shine.

Onyx is available for adoption at AWLA.
