Arlington and the D.C. area are under a Tornado Watch until midnight.
The watch was issued around 5 p.m. Friday, after weather models suggested a risk of severe storms, some of which might spawn tornados.
The National Weather Service says “ping pong size” hail and “a couple tornadoes” are possible tonight.
Another Tornado Watch has been issued for locations east of the previous one. This one is in effect through midnight. Also, Garrett, Allegany, and Mineral counties were added to the other Tornado Watch area. A couple tornadoes are possible through this afternoon & evening. pic.twitter.com/lHHxFS71pr

DMV gang – y'all know I only say "DMV tornado risk" maybe 2-3 times per year.
Remember last year's June 5 tornado episode in northern Maryland? We spotted that one in advance too. It was sneaky.
I want my D.C.-area followers to have a severe weather plan in place today. pic.twitter.com/bYkUcJEcsE
