A new spot for bites and brews has opened in Falls Church, replacing a former motel.
Stratford Garden opened yesterday (Tuesday) at the long-vacant Stratford Motor Lodge at 300 W. Broad Street, abuzz with local officials including Falls Church Mayor Letty Hardi.
The business, which promised a wide selection of beers and wines, offers a range of sandwiches, salads and pastas for brunch, lunch and dinner.
The location blends the past and the present
- Inside, Stratford Garden offers bar areas and space for 300 guests. In the warmer months, an outdoor, dog-friendly beer garden will also welcome customers.
- The new establishment took advantage of the former motor lodge footprint, building around a small strip of motel rooms parallel to Little Falls Street and the former La Caraquena restaurant.
- Photos posted from the opening depict a lively scene, with Economic Development Authority Chair Ross Likenhous making an appearance along with the city’s mayor.
The menu offers ‘something for everybody’
- “We’re gonna have something for everybody,” owner Arash Tafakor previously told ARLnow. “There’s a lot of different cultures around here, a lot of diversity, and I think our menu will show that. We’re not going to pigeonhole ourselves to, like, one type of food.”
- A slate of entrees — including steak frites, Berkshire pork chop and a Pennsylvania ribeye — lead the way, along with sandwiches (Stratford burger, french dip) and many other sides (thumbelina carrots, broccolini).
- The restaurant’s full hours have yet to be posted.
