A restaurant serving up spicy fried chicken is closing its doors in Rosslyn after three and a half years.
Hot Lola’s, which opened at 1501 Wilson Blvd in the summer of 2022, announced the closure in a social media post earlier this month. The initial plan was to close on New Year’s Eve, but the restaurant’s signage has already been taken down as of today (Tuesday).
Hot Lola’s specializes in chicken sandwiches
- The restaurant, which has another location in Ballston Quarter, sells flavorful chicken with spice levels ranging from no heat and “shy guy” to “get lit” and “flippin hot.”
- Its specialties include the “Hot Lola’s Sando” with slaw, pickles and comeback sauce, and the “Lola Deluxe” with toppings including turkey bacon, pepper jack cheese, pickles and buttermilk sauce.
- Other options on a relatively small menu include wings and chicken tender boxes.
‘New concepts’ are in the works
- The restaurant’s farewell post alluded to future plans for the Hot Lola’s team but remained vague on details.
- “While this specific door is closing, our creative journey isn’t over,” the restaurant wrote. “Chef Kevin and his team are already working on new concepts that we can’t wait to share with you in the coming year.”
