A water main break has partially closed a busy road in Cherrydale.
As of 3:30 p.m. the northbound lanes of N. Quincy Street were closed near 18th Street N., as water gushed a buckled portion of roadway in front of Restoration Anglican Church. Traffic control personnel were on scene, awaiting the arrival of county water crews.
Arlington’s Dept. of Environmental Services says the ruptured line is a six-inch main and “some 50 customers could be affected.” Repairs are expected to take until 1 a.m.
