An alert officer nabbed two teen suspects in a stolen vehicle seen driving near Fairlington, according to police.
The vehicle was reported stolen from the Arlington View neighborhood the night of Friday, Jan. 23. A few hours later, early Saturday morning, the officer spotted the vehicle and pulled it over on Quaker Lane.
A handgun with an extended magazine was found in the car, according to an Arlington County Police Department crime report. The passenger is now facing several gun charges while the driver has been charged with Grand Larceny Auto.
STOLEN VEHICLE/WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2026-01230205/2026-01240037, 13th Road S. and S. Rolfe Street/ Quaker Lane and 32nd Road S. At approximately 9:28 p.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to 13th Road S. at S. Rolfe Street and took a report for a stolen vehicle. Later in their shift, at approximately 2:18 a.m. on January 24, a patrol officer observed the stolen vehicle traveling in the area and conducted a traffic stop at Quaker Lane and 32nd Road S. and detained the vehicle occupants. A passenger in the vehicle was determined to be in possession of a concealed, loaded handgun with an extended magazine. The passenger, a juvenile male in his teens, was charged with Possession or Transportation of Certain Firearms by Persons Under the Age of 18, Carrying Concealed Weapons, Carrying Loaded Firearms in Public Areas Prohibited and Purchase or Transportation of Firearm by Persons Subject to Protective Orders. The driver, a juvenile male in his teens, was charged with Grand Larceny Auto.
In the latest crime report, meanwhile, police detail a pair of gun brandishing incidents, including one over a parking space along Columbia Pike.
BRANDISHING, 2026-02020026, 2300 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 4:55 a.m. on February 2, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was inside the business acting suspiciously when an employee confronted him and asked him to leave. The suspect then became irate and began acting disorderly. He then exited the business, began banging on doors and windows, made threatening statements and brandished what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male with dreadlocks wearing a green hoodie and brown pants. The investigation is ongoing.
BRANDISHING, 2026-01300080, 3500 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:09 p.m. on January 30, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim and suspect became involved in a verbal dispute over parking, during which the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm before leaving the scene. The suspect is described as a white male, 5’7” – 5’11” tall and weighing between 180 – 200 lbs. The investigation is ongoing.
