A woman had her phone and her car’s tires and rims stolen by a trio of thieves who also stole from and damaged several other vehicles.
That’s according to the latest Arlington County Police Department crime report.
The incident happened after 3 a.m. this morning (Friday) on the 1200 block of Arlington Ridge Road — a street near Pentagon City that’s home to several large condo towers.
“The female victim was inside a residence when she heard a noise outside and upon further investigation, observed the three male suspects stealing the tires and rims from her vehicle,” said ACPD. “The victim went outside and confronted the suspects during which one suspect stole the victim’s cellphone before all the suspects fled the scene in two vehicles, one of which is described as a black SUV.”
Police were called and officers searched the area but did not find the suspects. They did, however, find three more cars nearby — in or near the Riverhouse apartment parking lot — that had apparently been damaged by the suspects.
“During the course of the investigation, three additional vehicles parked in the 1600 block of S. Joyce Street were found to be tampered with; two with their tires and rims stolen and the front passenger windows shattered with the interiors rummaged through and a third vehicle that appeared to be rummaged through,” said the crime report.
“The suspects are described as Black males, 20-30 years old, wearing all black clothing and masks,” ACPD said. “The investigation is ongoing.”
