ACPD: Scooter riders threw a rock at a car, then kicked it, after a driver honked

A honk at two people riding scooters in the road escalated into a thrown rock and a kicked car in south Arlington, according to Arlington County police.

It happened around 6:45 p.m. yesterday (Thursday) in the 2900 block of S. Glebe Road, near Four Mile Run Drive.

The driver honked at the two as they rode in the roadway, and they threw what looked like a rock at his car, causing damage, according to the crime report. After he drove off, the pair came back and kicked his parked car before fleeing.

Officers searched the area but did not find them, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE, 2026-07230197, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 6:46 p.m. on July 23, police were dispatched to the report of destruction of property. It was determined the male victim was driving his vehicle in the area of Four Mile Run Drive at W. Glebe Road when he honked at two male suspects riding scooters in the roadway. The suspects then threw what appeared to be a rock at the victim’s vehicle, causing property damage. The victim drove away and the suspects reapproached and kicked his parked vehicle before fleeing the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results.
