Sushi2Go rebranding as ‘WasaB’ after renovations in Ballston

A takeout sushi restaurant near the Ballston Metro station is getting a new look and a spicy new name.

Sushi2Go at 901 N. Stuart St. has closed and is being rebranded as WasaB, according to signs posted on the windows.

Sung Lee, who took over the restaurant, told ARLnow that he is currently cleaning and renovating the restaurant while awaiting a permit from the county. Lee declined to provide further comment.

An online ordering platform for WasaB shows a variety of sushi rolls, vegetable rolls, nigiri and sashimi, as well as hot noodles. The website still has an image of the Sushi2Go logo, so it’s unclear if the menu will change.

A liquor license for WasaB was issued on Oct. 13.

Sushi2Go opened in 2015, drawing inspiration from a takeout sushi chain called Wasabi. It replaced Primo Fresh Deli, which sold smoothies and sandwiches.
