Police are investigating a string of creepy crimes in North Arlington.
Early Monday morning, a suspect was seen peeping into a bedroom window in Cherrydale.

Last weekend a drunk and disorderly man entered a pizza shop on Columbia Pike and allegedly slapped a man and stole his Bluetooth earpiece.

A man was accused of “inappropriately” touching a “young child” this past weekend.
The 58-year-old suspect was charged with sexual battery. Police say the incident happened in the Douglas Park neighborhood on Saturday. From this week’s Arlington County crime report:
“Are you available for a vehicle search, 66 and 495, to assist state?” screeches the police radio.
Cpl. Dave Torpy with the Arlington County Police Department receives a call from dispatch regarding a potential drug situation in Fairfax County. He confirms he can respond to the mutual aid call and heads out to his car to join his partner waiting inside. But his is no ordinary partner. Torpy gets to work with Ozzie, one of ACPD’s K-9 members.

According to police, an unknown vandal or vandals slashed tires on six vehicles in the 400 block of Army Navy Drive between 5:00 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday. There is no suspect description.
This is the latest in a string of tire slashing sprees that has plagued Arlington over the past several months. Hall’s Hill was hit twice, first in November when 36 vehicles were affected and again in December when 40 cars were vandalized. In July, police investigated a string of slashed tire incidents on 16 vehicles — mostly Toyota Priuses — in the Cherrydale, Waverly Hills and Barcroft Park neighborhoods. About two weeks later, in August, 10 vehicle owners found their tires slashed in the Arlington View neighborhood.

The Arlington County Police Department has issued its crime report for the two weeks ending Dec. 31.
A few days before Christmas, some Grinch stole a fruit basket (and a gift card) from a Virginia Square apartment mail room.
The assault came after the victim left the bar at 2:15 a.m., according to the Arlington County Police Department crime report.
“Three subjects were exiting the bar when they made some inappropriate comments to a female who was standing with the victim, who then said something back to them,” Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told ARLnow.com.

(Updated at 4:25 p.m.) A man reportedly was stabbed in the chest early Wednesday morning after exchanging words with his assailant near the Ballston Metro.

According to police, the suspect approached the 15-year-old victim around 8:25 p.m. in the 5100 block of 8th Road S. and put him in a choke hold. The suspect demanded the victim’s Nike Foamposite shoes, shoved the victim and then fled.
The victim was not seriously injured and was not transported to the hospital.

Last Wednesday, an armed man robbed a woman at gunpoint in her room at the Sheraton hotel on Columbia Pike.

Police say 40 cars were hit sometime from 12:30-7:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7. The first vandalized car was discovered at 7:00 a.m. that day and dozens of others were found as residents emerged from their homes.
The targeted cars were found along several blocks in Hall’s Hill: the 1800 and 1900 blocks of N. Dinwiddie Street, the 1800 block of N. Culpeper Street, the 1700 block of N. Cameron Street, the 4900 blocks of 17th and 18th Streets N., the 4700 and 5000 blocks of 19th Street N. and the 5000 block of 20th Street N. Most of the vehicles were in the street but some were also parked in driveways.
