A 26-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two Arlington police officers without provocation early this morning (Friday).
Quinton Berry, an Alexandria resident, was “bloody and agitated” when he allegedly approached two officers whose police vehicle was stopped at a traffic light in Clarendon around 3 a.m., the Arlington County Police Department said in a press release.
Two police officers were hurt after a group of “disorderly” teens led them on a series of foot chases in Ballston.
The incident happened shortly before 11 a.m., drawing a large police response to the 900 block of N. Stuart Street.
Police are looking for one or two suspects who have been robbing local businesses while armed.
The robberies happened around 8 p.m. the past two days, each by a 20-something year-old man wearing dark clothing and a face mask. On both nights, a man brandished a gun and demanded cash at a pair of nearby businesses.
Update on 10/14/25: The suspect was found dead in the river, according to Virginia State Police.
