Give a round of applause to Tiger, the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week!
This fluffy, longhaired guy is gorgeous and ready to find a family to call home. He is currently in shelter at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
This is what his friends had to say:
This lovable striped 1-year-old is looking for a home to call his own. He’s a laid-back boy who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. Set him up in a sun-soaked window sill, and you can bet that he’ll find the perfect spot to curl up and unwind.
One of Tiger’s favorite pastimes is being pampered with belly rubs. He’s not just content with a casual pat; he’s a full-fledged belly-rub aficionado. In fact, there’s seemingly no limit to the amount of petting he can enjoy. He also loves to be groomed, so get your brushes and get ready for some quality bonding time.
Tiger has lived with children in the past, and as long as boundaries are respected, they should be able to live harmoniously in the future.
Despite being named Tiger, this handsome fellow boasts a striking resemblance to a lynx with his stunning tufted ears and captivating gaze. Don’t let his lynx-like appearance fool you — Tiger is a gentle and affectionate companion at heart.
His favorite pastime is curling up in a cozy spot beside you, purring contently as you stroke his luxurious coat. With his soft, plush fur and endearing mannerisms, Tiger has a way of melting hearts wherever he goes.
Are you starry eyed? Then Tiger is the furry companion for you!

Age is just a number and this furry senior knows it. Meet Ike, the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week!
This black and white Shih Tzu is currently in foster through the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
His foster had this to say about him:
He’s an absolute GEM who has so much love and companionship to give! Although Ike may be a senior dog, age is just a number for this little guy!
For starters, he loves to get outside and walk. Even though his back legs are a tad wobbly and he appreciates a lift on stairs, he loves to stroll, check out new smells, and meet other humans… followed by a long nap!
More than anything, Ike LOVES to keep up with his people. Whatever you are doing — cooking, laundry, watching TV, hanging out with friends — Ike wants to be nearby chillaxing. He has snoozed through many work calls, so we can vouch for his performance as a good employee!
Just know that Ike is HOPING you might eat something yummy that you’ll be eager to share (hint hint). If you’re looking for the sweetest, low-maintenance buddy, you’ve found him!
Ike’s favorite things are: COMPANIONSHIP. Ike wants to be your bestie, and he wants to look into your eyes and know that you feel the same way! EATING. He lives for food, and a variety of flavors really gets him going! COZINESS. He loves a comfy bed, with clean bedding being especially exciting as he paws it into a state of perfection before flopping down with a contented sigh!
If Ike was an ice cream flavor, he would be: Cookies and cream. Let’s state the obvious, he looks like cookies and cream — heavy on the cookie! He’s sweet and comforting, but still upbeat and guaranteed to make you feel happy!
And don’t forget his best friend Kiki! Ike and Kiki are two seniors living their best life and need to stick together. Learn more about Ike by reading his entire profile!

Announcing the Princess Kona!, the newest Arlington Pet of the Week.
This royal is living it up in her penthouse in Clarendon. She even has her own website that her loyal subjects can follow!
Her owner had this to say about the princess:
Princess Kona! is lovable and enjoys playing, sitting on the balcony chirping at the crows, and advocating for adoption at AWLA.
She was adopted just 10 months ago from AWLA and has made her home in Clarendon. She celebrated her 2nd birthday in May with family from New York. Being a princess, she enjoys going out in Clarendon in her backpack and sightseeing all that Arlington has to offer.
Her favorite toys are a red sparkly ball and a nice mouse to share with you.
She loves face rubs and back rubs. Most of all, while she likes chirping at birds, her food of choice is salmon and tuna. That includes not only her food; also her treats.
Her other fun thing to do is to sight-see while she is in her litter, after all, there is so much to see.

Meet Roy Lee, a beautiful black cat who is the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week!
This is what his foster parents had to say about him:
Roy Lee is a sweet, handsome, brave guy who has come so far! After a sad and rough start to his life, he has now blossomed in his foster home and is enjoying becoming a real cat.
Roy is VERY motivated by pets and love — he is always eager for neck and bum scratches, and will rub on your legs or jump up next to you in pursuit of more pets. After getting a good dose of love, his inner kitten comes out and he’s off playing with jingly balls and other small toys he can bat around.
He’s recently discovered that cat scratchers and catnip are awesome. He now knows that cuddling up next to you on the couch is the best thing ever. He’s had to learn all the cat basics!
Roy is a great eater and uses the litter box like a champ. Patience and consistency is key to opening up his adorable, loving, and playful personality. He may be shy and hide in a new home at first, but once he knows he’s safe and in trusted hands, he will just blossom and trot out for pets when he hears you!
He’s been great with the little kids in his foster home. Roy will make a delightful companion!

Say hello to the wonderful Cheesecake, the newest Adoptable Pet of the Week!
This senior girl is currently in foster with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington and is ready for her forever home.
This is what her foster has to say about her:
Cheesecake is a darling senior lady looking for a sunny space to enjoy her golden years.
Meek and mild, she spends most of her days soaking in the sun with an occasional visit for head rubs and loving pets. She has the cutest little trot when she walks around the house and will lead you to her food bowl when it’s time to eat because she knows it like clockwork. She will always take you up on a treat!
Her perfect day is lots of warm naps followed by regular check-ins for head scratches and back rubs. She’ll reward you with a squeaky meow and loving purr.
Important facts about Cheesecake: while she is a senior cat she regularly demonstrates an ability to run and jump to get into cat trees and bedding perches. Cheesecake doesn’t particularly care to be held, but will sit beside you and is an ever present roommate. Meet Alfie and Eve, the newest Arlington Pet of the Week duo!
This Boston Terrier and ginger cat duo are living their best lives in Arlington.
Their owner had this to say about them:
Meet the cutest brother and sister pair since Luke and Leia.
Alfie enjoys snuggling with anyone with a blanket, especially his mom, barking at the vacuum cleaner for fear it will vacuum him, and chasing Eve at random times, especially when she gets close to the person with the blanket.
He treats dog parks like human parks, happily running up to and jumping on unsuspecting people, particularly those wearing light-colored pants. Since his best friend, Floof the Bernadoodle, moved away, he hasn’t bonded with another dog, but he seems to like those who he can pretend to dominate the most, whether they are okay with this approach or not.
I keep talking to him about consent, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.
Eve enjoys waking her parents up at the crack of dawn by throwing herself against their bedroom door until they can no longer ignore her. Once in said room, she likes to step on her parents’ alarm clock until she turns on the radio or sets an alarm for 3 am to scare the bejeezus out of them.
If there’s a crawl space to be discovered, she suddenly becomes Marco Polo, ensuring that every inch is explored and that her parents yell her name, looking for her for hours until she acknowledges that she is alive. Her age is unknown because although the Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue Team said she was a kitten, the cat dental surgeon who had to pull four of her teeth because of severe gum disease said her teeth put her age at roughly 5-7.
The cost of having to get all of her teeth pulled eventually will be like putting a child through private college, but she makes it all worth it by… well, we haven’t figured that out yet, but hopefully, she’ll give us motivation beyond scratching at our couch and giving us occasional purrs when we pet her.
The two of them have a love/torture/tolerate relationship, but I think they’d be pretty lonely without each other.

The newest Adoptable Pet of the Week is Cosmic Brownie!
This girl is an adorable pup who is up for adoption at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.
Cosmic Brownie had this to say about herself:
I’m a bouncy pup who is still learning all about life in a home. I’m sweet as brownies and would like to rocket right out of this world on an adventure with you.
As a growing pup, I will need lots of attention and training to raise me just right. I am probably gonna grow up to be a big girl, so having excellent manners will make me a successful pet. I’m definitely still in my puppy phase, so be ready!
At AWLA I worked with trainers to ignore distractions, practice good manners, and connect to my handler on walks. In foster, I’ve worked on showcasing my cuteness and trying to explore my new home.
