Two Arlington zip codes saw some of Northern Virginia’s highest increases in home values over the past year, by one metric.

The new rankings, compiled by UrbanTurf, come as property values are continuing to rise both in Arlington and across the region. However, small data sets and variance in the types of properties sold may limit how much it’s possible to read into the numbers.


Schools

The best public schools in Virginia are in Arlington and Falls Church, according to new 2025 rankings.

Arlington Public Schools rank No. 2, right behind Falls Church City Public Schools at No. 1, the education research firm Niche found. Only one other school district in the state received an overall A+ rating.

Arlington has fallen from No. 1 to No. 2 in a ranking of the most educated “cities” in the country.

The new ranking from Forbes Advisor spotlights Arlington’s status as having the nation’s highest percentage of residents aged 25 and older with bachelor’s degrees and graduate degrees — 78% and 43%, respectively. That’s a hair above last year’s percentages of 76% and 42%.

Arlington is one of the best places for working parents, according to a new set of rankings.

The website CoworkingCafe says Arlington is the No. 3 place in the country for a set of working parents to raise a family, bested only by D.C. and Seattle.

Falls Church has returned to its No. 1 spot on the U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of the nation’s healthiest communities, and Arlington remains in the top 25.

The rankings, released today (Tuesday), gave Falls Church an overall score of 100 out of 100, particularly recognizing its high quality education, healthy populace, strong economy and good nutrition and infrastructure. Arlington County, meanwhile, received a score of 86.07, placing it at No. 19 on the list.

Arlington County’s run as the fittest “city” in America continues for a seventh consecutive year.

New rankings released Tuesday by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) again placed Arlington in the top spot, with Washington, D.C. and Seattle rounding out the top three.

A longtime Rosslyn eatery was recently recognized in the Washington Post’s list of “great affordable restaurants in the D.C. area.”

Pho 75 at 1721 Wilson Blvd, in the Colonial Village Shopping Center, was one of five restaurants on the list compiled by food critic Tom Sietsema.

A new study by the website CoworkingCafe put Arlington at the No. 1 spot for “mid-sized cities,” just ahead of neighboring Alexandria at No. 2 and tech hub Bellevue, Washington at No. 3.

Move over National Arboretum, the D.C. area’s “best spot to take in Mother Nature” is in Arlington, according to WTOP.

The radio station’s Matt About Town segment says that Arlington National Cemetery is the best place to quietly take in nature’s splendor.
