The Arlington County Board may be in for a marathon session as it tackles two big items on Saturday.
First, the board is scheduled to vote on its FY 2012 budget, which has been the subject of numerous work sessions, public forums and community discussions. Then the board is scheduled to vote on the controversial East Falls Church development plan, which is several years in the making.
A significant amount of citizen input is expected for both items.

Get out the popcorn and soft drinks…
On another agenda item, why is the county making adjustments so frequently to the retirement code? They typically say that the changes are technical, but the repeated minor changes make me wonder what’s going on. Meanwhile I haven’t seen anything on a issue that isn’t a minor one-how they plan to get from 95% funded back to the fully funded status their financial policies say they maintain.
Good Lord, that EFC project is going to be a disaster. I really don’t know what the county is thinking. Obviously, they don’t live around or pass through that neighborhood.
If they did, adding density would be the last thing on earth they would consider.
