A bicyclist was reportedly struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and North Randolph Street in Ballston around noon today.

Initial reports suggest the cyclist is conscious and will be okay.

The intersection has been cited by ARLnow.com commenters as particularly dangerous for pedestrians. Another pedestrian accident occurred near the intersection three weeks ago.

What sort of assessments are being done to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety in this corridor (bounded by Wilson-Washington Blvd-Glebe-Monroe. It has lots of pedestrian traffic not only because of the offices, mall, and metro but high school students who are in the walking zone for W-L.

This is right near me and I am not going to assume it is a problem with bike/ped safety for a while.
