Greek-inspired soup, salad and sandwich restaurant Zoë’s Kitchen is coming to Ballston.

According to the company’s web site, the new Zoë’s will be located near the Ballston Metro station at 4245 Fairfax Drive, formerly home to do-it-yourself stir fry restaurant Flat Top Grill.

Founded in 1995, Alabama-based Zoë’s is a rapidly-growing chain with restaurants from Arizona to Florida. It has three D.C.-area locations: Fairfax, Woodbridge and Potomac, Md. Its menu includes kabobs, sandwiches, pitas and a variety of soups and salads.

No word yet on when the restaurant will open.

Greek food, yes please. Perfect location, I was wondering why it took so long for someplace to open there after Aladdin’s closed.

    • Maria

I was excited when I saw the word “Greek” too, but they don’t even have a gyro or souvlaki! I mean, I know it’s Greek “inspired” and not technically Greek, but sheesh.

    Brilliant! Not a burger joint.

I’m so glad that it’s not another American food bar! Zoe’s menu looks great! I can’t wait!

I know it was so mid 1990s, but Arlington could use more Pho places. There’s obviously tons of cupcakes, burgers, even kabob places, but only Pho 75. Sure I could just go to 7 corners, but that’s not Arlington.

I would recommend Minh’s Restaurant, which is a couple blocks west on Wilson. Not your traditional Pho joint, but it still carries good pho. My office moved to Seven Corners, so I am trying them all in the area.

Check out the pho place next to Banh Mi across 50 by Graham Rd. I think it is a “75” but not affiliated with the location on Wilson Blvd.

        • NomNom

I am not sure if the comment was for me or for novasteve. If it is for me, yes that is a Pho 75 and their broth is exceptional. I would also recommend Golden Cow which is catty corner to that Pho 75, I think their proteins are better. If the comment was for novasteve, then your suggestion wont help as he is looking for Arlington and not Falls Church/Seven Corners. I like Minh’s which is in the Courthouse area. It is a pretty classy Vietnamese place.

Finally, somewhere to get a Greek egg salad sandwich.

    • PghBigDog

<> a nice Greek cupcake with feta cheese icing! YUM!

  • There had better be Gyros or there will be hell to pay.

  • Sam

The former Flat Top location was recently housed by Aladdin.

Now if we can just find an establishment to take over the old Ruby Tuesday’s spot directly in front of Ballston Metro. Any recommendations?

I’ve been bummed ever since Ruby Tuesday closed. It was a great non-yuppie place that was suitable for adults and kids. The strange thing is, if you look in the windows, the place is still set up exactly like it was when it closed two or three years ago, complete with tablecloths still on the tables.

      • Maria

It closed that long ago?? Creepy.

      • SoCo Resident

        “Good Bye Ruby Tuesday….”

  • BallstonDweller

I loved Aladdin’s, so happy to have another place in the neighborhood. Especially something different.

Good point–Any news about the former Ruby Tuesday’s?

Now if only we could get someplace with live music–not always feeling like a walk to Clarendon.

Have been to their location in Bama… Awesome food! Can’t wait for it to open! Will be like home!

    • SoExcited!

I also have been to the Bama location–was a regular when I lived there. This place is great! I can’t wait!
