A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the D.C. region tonight.

A line of storms that caused severe damage in Chicago earlier today is quickly approaching the region from the west.

The watch extends through 11:00 p.m.

Scott – does the Severe Thunderstorm Watch extend all the way down to the tunnel by Columbia Island Marina?
    C’mon – didn’t that at least make you smile? Where there’s a will, there’s a way. . .

The line of red on the radar had a break in it that passed right over Arlington. Not a drop in the Yorktown neighborhood (plenty of wind, though)

The Moses of Arlington strikes again…

What’s this the 5th time this year?

    • Lou

Hey, at least it knocked the temps down about 10 degrees. This might mean it’s only getting up to 97 tomorrow instead of 99.

      I’m sorry.

all the tall buildings of Tysons pierce the sky and the clouds split, some going north some going south and arlington is left dry.

not a drop!!! This happened last summer as well – right at DC the storm would break in half and leave us dry. Very frustrating.
