Dump Truck Loses Wheel in Ballston

by ARLnow.com August 23, 2011 at 12:07 pm 3,566 14 Comments

A fully-loaded dump truck came to a grinding halt at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and Randolph Street this morning after its left front wheel detached from the axle.

Nobody was hurt, but the accident did block Randolph Street for at least a half hour, as a heavy wrecker truck was brought in to move the disabled dump truck. A large gash was visible in the pavement, showing where the truck started grinding into the street after the wheel fell off.

The incident happened as the truck was turning from northbound Glebe onto Randolph, across from the Harris Teeter and the Ballston mall parking garage.

Are you trying to promote for Justin T.? Or promote for the venue that your name phonetically sounds like?

(Note: the guy is a musician who plays at that venue, but I won’t feed the promo by repeating either name here.)

I suspect getting his name in front of people is your goal, which is why you make a meaningless comment almost daily. But it adds nothing to the discussion, and I’m not the only one who finds it annoying. We get it, so you can feel free to stop now. Thanks.

Oh how I already miss the heady days of bank robberies and donaldson run deluges.

  • Wow. That could be dangerous. Those wheels are really heavy and could destroy a Prius.

      Heeheehee. You’re “bad’!

  • Gumby

I bet that driver is in the dumps.

    That’s a dumpy situation.

The Ballston metro got revitalized a bit today…new interior lights and a ticketing booth

  • Gumby

A ticketing booth? What does that mean? Can you get smart cards there etc or do you mean another fare card machine?

  • EARTHQUAKE!!!

    WTF was that!
