Earlier: Arlington and the surrounding region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 5 p.m. today.
Forecasters say a line of strong storms is expected to roll through the area this afternoon.
From the National Weather Service:
Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail are possible this afternoon and evening. The most likely time for severe thunderstorms is between 2 PM and 9 PM.
A Gale Warning is in effect for the waters today and tonight.
A wind advisory may be required tonight for winds in excess of 45 mph.
