Clarendon’s newest spot for Mediterranean cuisine is now serving diners.
Láylí Mediterranean opened its doors on Thursday at 3033 Wilson Blvd — the former site of Bar Ivy, which closed last year.
“Located in the heart of the Clarendon neighborhood, Láylí will transport guests to the vibrant Mediterranean coast, where sharing conversation with friends and family over mezze and drinks in an energetic setting is a time-honored tradition,” a spokesperson said.
The restaurant provides “both traditional and modern takes” on Lebanese dishes, which is where chef Samer Zeitoun was raised before immigrating to the U.S. in 1986. Offerings include traditional favorites such as falafel, roasted eggplant, kibbeh nayeh and fattoush, as well as signature items including beef tenderloin shawarma, hummus with duck confit, grilled whole branzino, and lamb shank.
Both indoor and outdoor seating is available.
“Our menu will showcase modern Lebanese cuisine as its foundation while weaving in traditional Greek and Turkish flavors,” co-owner Walid Zeytoun told ARLnow in March. “Featuring a wide selection of meats and seafood alongside signature vegan and vegetarian options, we aim to offer delights for every palate.”
Traditional Mediterranean flavors are emphasized across the restaurants food and drink menus, embracing such ingredients as pistachios, rose water and olive oil. Wines from the region are also offered.
The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. until midnight.
