A coffee shop with local roots is eyeing the Potomac Yard area in Arlington for its third storefront.

Kaldi’s Social House is moving in at 3639 S. Glebe Road, according to permits filed for the property. The restaurant will have 114 seats inside, plus 35 on the outside, the permits suggest.

Kaldi’s menu features a variety of traditional coffee drinks, teas and smoothies. Beer, wine and cocktails are also available.

The restaurant’s breakfast menu — served until noon most days — includes waffles, sandwiches, bowls and toasts topped with various ingredients. Dedicated lunch and dinner menus offer a variety of bowls, salads and other items, while a steak sandwich and six other offerings are served all day long.

A target opening date was not publicly available. The company did not respond to a request for comment.

Kaldi’s opened a Clarendon location, at 3110 10th Street N., in 2020. The coffee shop survived the pandemic and often appears busy, despite its location away from the main Clarendon drag.

The growing company got its start in Maryland as Kaldi’s Coffee in 2014. That first location remains open in downtown Silver Spring.
