New restaurant eyes early 2025 opening at former Rooftop Bar & Grill spot

A new restaurant may soon open at the former spot of Rooftop Bar & Grill in Courthouse.

The unnamed bar and restaurant concept comes from Gary Ouellette, the owner of Union Jack’s British Pub in Columbia, Md., and formerly in Ballston. The new business has its eyes on an early 2025 opening at 2424 Wilson Blvd, general manager Brian Ouellette told ARLnow.

The establishment is expected to open on the building’s second level and rooftop. Other details about the business aren’t available at this time, Brian Ouellette said.

The new business applied for a license to serve alcoholic beverages on the premises at 2424 Wilson Blvd in August under the name “Arlington Social LLC,” state records show.

The second level and roof of 2424 Wilson Blvd have been vacant since Rooftop Bar & Grill closed in December after over a decade in business. The county previously revoked the former bar’s live entertainment permit in 2021 following several Arlington County Police Department visits for noise complaints.

Japanese restaurant Takeshi Sushi and longtime Indian eatery Delhi Dhaba are located on the building’s ground floor.
