Arlington’s third Goodwill location opened yesterday (Wednesday) on Langston Blvd after some delays during interior construction.
The new center at 5210 Langston Blvd mainly serves as a donation drop-off spot for apparel and household goods. The site is also expected to sell a limited selection of merchandise.
Goodwill selected the new space — formerly occupied by Tops Cleaners — for its presence on a major thoroughfare, with hopes that it will help the nonprofit reach a larger segment Arlington residents.
“Our goal is to make the donation process more convenient for people interested in helping our community and our planet,” a Goodwill spokesman told ARLnow.
Arlington has two other Goodwill locations: a store at 4714 Columbia Pike and a store and donation center — which is proposed for redevelopment — at 10 S. Glebe Road.
The new Donation Express is open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends.
