ACPD: Woman finds bullet in home after hearing loud noise

A bullet was fired into a woman’s home just south of Columbia Pike, though it’s not clear who fired it.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Monday on the 4500 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. The woman heard a loud noise and called police after discovering a broken window and a damaged wall. Officers then found a bullet inside the home.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING (late), 2024-11110150, 4500 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 8:06 p.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined approximately one hour prior, the female victim was inside her residence when she heard a loud noise and observed a broken window and damage to an interior wall. During the course of the investigation, a spent bullet was recovered. The victim did not report any injuries. Officers canvassed the area for any injuries or property damage to neighboring units with negative results. The investigation is ongoing.

Also Monday night, three police officers were allegedly kicked by a drunk teen girl after she was found “inside a secured, shared outdoor space of a residential building” in the Ballston area.

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-11110149, 4300 block of N. Fairfax Drive. At approximately 7:51 p.m. on November 11, police were dispatched to the report of public intoxication. Upon arrival, officers observed the juvenile suspect inside a secured, shared outdoor space of a residential building. The suspect attempted to flee the scene but subsequently complied with officers’ commands to speak with them. During the course of the investigation, the suspect became disorderly, and officers detained her during which she was noncompliant and kicked three officers. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and following her release, petitions for were obtained for Assault on Police (x3), and Consumption of Alcohol while Underage.

Two hours earlier and a block away, a man was allegedly stabbed by another man at the bus terminal outside of the Ballston Metro station.

AGGRAVATED MALICIOUS WOUNDING (late), 2024-11110132, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 5:48 p.m. on November 11, police responded to Virginia Hospital Center for the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was in the area of the bus terminal when he was approached by a male subject who engaged him in conversation. The male suspect then approached the victim on foot, made threatening statements, brandished a knife and struck him with it, resulting in a laceration. The suspect subsequently fled the scene. The victim sought assistance from a Metro employee who called for medics. Medics treated the victim on scene before he sought additional treatment at the hospital. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male approximately 6’0”, 200 pounds, with short black hair, brown eyes, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

And on Sunday night, near the intersection of Columbia Pike and S. Walter Reed Drive, three men assaulted three female victims whom they had engaged in conversation, according to ACPD.

ASSAULT BY MOB, 2024-11100189, 2900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 8:13 p.m. on November 10, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined that three female victims were in the area when they engaged in conversation with the three male suspects. Shortly thereafter, a physical altercation began, and the three male suspects assaulted the three female victims before fleeing the scene. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and did not require medical attention. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 6’0”-6’2”, 200-230 pounds, with a beard, wearing a black jacket, black hoodie, green camo pants, a baseball cap, and black sneakers. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 6’0”, 170-190 pounds, with a beard, short hair, wearing a light blue hoodie, light jeans and white sneakers. Suspect Three is described as a Black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 6’0”, 180-200 pounds, with a beard, wearing a navy-blue jacket, a black baseball cap, black jeans, black and white sneakers and a black jersey. The investigation is ongoing.
