Arlington County police responded to several serious incidents over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the latest ACPD crime report.
A man was stabbed Friday morning at the Apex Apartments on S. Glebe Road. Police arrested a 50-year-old Arlington resident who, they said, knew the victim.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-12010061, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:02 a.m. on December 1, police were dispatched to the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect and male victim, who are known to each other, were inside a residential building when they became involved in a physical altercation. The suspect allegedly then struck the victim with a knife, causing a laceration, before fleeing the scene. Responding officers immediately rendered aid to the victim and medics transported him to an area hospital with serious injuries. Officers located the suspect in his nearby residence where he was detained without incident. Richard Hamilton, 50, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
Earlier that morning, a gunshot was fired in the Buckingham neighborhood during a dispute. No one was hurt.
SHOTS FIRED, 2024-11290009, N. Thomas Street at N. Cathedral Lane. At approximately 2:25 a.m. on November 29, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and the male suspect were outside when they became involved in a verbal dispute during which the suspect discharged a firearm before fleeing the scene in a white sedan. No injuries were reported. Officers recovered evidence confirming a shot had been fired and canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results.
Then, on Friday night, an Arlington man was arrested after police say he struck and seriously injured another man during a drunken dispute inside a business in the Fort Myer Heights neighborhood.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-11290146, 1200 block of Fort Myer Drive. At approximately 8:46 p.m. on November 29, police were dispatched to the report of a 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and male suspect were inside a business when they became involved in a verbal dispute during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim. The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released on scene by medics. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and detained him without incident. [The suspect], 39, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.
Beyond the crime report, ACPD said via social media Sunday afternoon that officers were investigating an armed carjacking at a Pentagon City parking garage.
A white Ford Bronco was taken by a pair of mask-wearing, gun-toting suspects, police said

Separately, several ARLnow readers have asked about a report of a rape in a Ballston parking garage that was not previously included in any ACPD crime reports or press releases.
Police department spokeswoman Alli Shorb says the incident last Monday involved two people who knew each other and that state law prevents additional details from being released.
RAPE, 2024-11260079, 600 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:37 a.m. on November 26, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, the victim reported a nonconsensual sexual encounter with a known subject inside a vehicle on the afternoon of November 25, 2024. Additional information is restricted from release in accordance with Virginia Code § 19.2-11.2. The investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public related to this incident.
