A forthcoming senior living development with 215 apartments has broken ground in Falls Church.
The Reserve — part of the expansive West Falls development project — will offer both independent living and assisted living, as well as memory care, through operator Experience Senior Living.
At 15 stories, the project will feature several restaurants including a chophouse, a seafood restaurant, an oyster bar and a cocktail lounge. Other planned amenities include an indoor pool and spa, a fitness center, and a makerspace “designed for creative expression and life-long learning,” a press release says.
“We’re excited to bring The Reserve at Falls Church to life and are thrilled to be able to offer our award-winning continuum of care, allowing residents of Falls Church to remain close to their friends and family and enjoy the lifestyle they’ve grown accustomed to,” said Experience Senior Living President Phill Barklow.
This is the 18th senior living project that Experience Senior Living and Colorado-based developer NexCore Group have undertaken. Located near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Haycock Road, the development is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
The 10-acre West Falls project — the largest development in Falls Church’s history — has taken some significant steps forward in recent months with the opening of The Alder apartment building and The Oak condominium building.
A Hilton Home2 Suites hotel also hosted a grand opening in May, while a set of medical offices and a 362-space parking garage wrapped up construction earlier this year.
Restaurants SEOULSPICE, BurgerFi and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls are among several businesses aiming to open in the development’s ground-floor retail bays in the next few months.
