JUST IN: Winter Weather Advisory issued for Arlington

Arlington County is under a Winter Weather Advisory starting later today.

One to two inches of snow are expected to fall between Friday night and Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the flakes should start flying in Arlington between 9-11 p.m. tonight and should taper off around 5-7 a.m. Saturday.

On social media, Arlington County’s public works department said it was “watching the forecast” as it continued the cleanup from Monday’s snowstorm.

* WHEN…From 10 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Light to moderate snow will overspread the area late this evening, then quickly come to an end Saturday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
