A post office on Crystal Drive is relocating, but not very far.
The current United States Postal Service office inside the Crystal City Shops at 2180 Crystal Drive is closing, but a new post office is expected to open less than a quarter mile away at 320 23rd Street S.
This is on the ground floor of Quimby on 23rd apartments.
Opening and closing dates are TBD
- The new post office will offer mailing and shipping services, stamp sales and P.O. box rentals, a USPS representative told ARLnow.
- The representative could not yet say when the 2180 Crystal Drive location will close, or when the new location could open.
- Another post office nearby at 1301 S. Fern Street in Pentagon City is expected to remain open.
USPS relocated in Crystal City nearly a decade ago
- The current 2180 Crystal Drive location relocated from nearby 1632 Crystal Square in late 2016.
- The 1301 S. Fern Street location opened in 2011 after a USPS office at 1720 S. Eads Street was demolished to make way for high-rise apartment building Crystal Flats.
